Welcome

Welcome to Austwick Church of England Primary School.

Austwick CE (VA) Primary School is an outstanding school situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We have three mixed age classes including a nursery where children can join us from the age of 3 and benefit from a creative and supportive early years experience provided by a qualified Early Years'  teacher.

We provide a daily breakfast club from 7.45 am and have a variety of after school clubs to engage pupils and meet the needs of our parents and carers.

Our small school setting (54 pupils currently on roll, plus nursery) enables us to provide a family atmosphere where children are known, cared for and educated as unique individuals. Our primary aim is to nurture, support, stretch and challenge children, building self-confidence and an enjoyment of learning so that they become independent, self-motivated and resilient individuals, able to reach their full potential.

Austwick School is proud of its Church School heritage and Christian Values permeate all that we do. We are a fully inclusive school; we foster respect and tolerance enabling children to explore what is important to them whilst embracing and valuing the diversity of British Society and the wider world. We are extremely proud of our pupils and school, not only in our academic achievements, but in providing opportunities to prepare pupils for life. We are particularly proud of links with our partner school of St Luke's, Bury and our links and work to support education in Uganda via the Jinja Educational Trust (JET). We strive to provide an appropriate balance between making good use of our stunning outdoor environment and learning about our local heritage and ensuring that pupils have many opportunities to experience wider British life, including different cultures, faiths and cities.

We work closely with parents and carers and encourage them to be involved in the life of our school. Our staff and governors are highly motivated, talented and caring individuals and strive to provide the best possible education for our pupils.

We have strong links with and collaborate with our cluster of local schools (for example, trips, residential visits, sporting events and staff training and our school is part of the CASTLE teaching alliance - You can find more information by following this link https://www.castlealliance.org.uk/

Please do contact us if you would like to visit us so that you can experience the school in action! Please note that we are happy to provide paper copies of all documents on the website free of charge. Please contact Mrs Wright on 015242 51366 if you would like any of these.
